Whales are known to be the largest marine animals in the world. This animal belongs to the phylum Chordate along with the lion and king snakes. For the reproductive system of a whale they usually travel towards the equator. The whales begin to mate at the ages of five to ten. When the whales mate the male whale’s sperm will reach the eggs of the female whale. Once they do they form a zygote. The zygote will later become the baby whale after twelve moths of pregnancy. The baby whale will be born tale first and will weigh about 6,000 pounds. Even when the whale is just born it is still large. The whales do not become independent till they are a year old. This is the reproductive system of a whale.
