Along with many other different arachnids like spiders, scorpions are apart of the arthropod phylum. Along with other arachnids scorpions have more than one limb. One of the characteristics of an arthropod is to be an animal having more than one limb. The respiratory system for a scorpion is called the book lungs. The book lungs are tubes that overlaid each other like books and are used to attain air. These layers can be found in the lower abdomen of the scorpion. When the oxygen is attracted by the scorpion the air begins to flow through the layers or books of the scorpion. This is the respiratory system of the arthropod scorpion.
