Arthropods are apart of the animal kingdom and consist of different species such as insects and different types of fish. Arthropods come from a common ancestor. If a species can trace back to an ancestor that is an arthropod that means they are an arthropod as well. If a species cannot trace back to a species that was an arthropod than they are not an arthropod. An arthropod has many different characteristics that make them similar in structure. For instance, the body of an arthropod is bilateral meaning that they are symmetrical in both the left and right side of their body. In addition, there bodies are made up in structures. For example, a shrimp’s body is made up in different parts or structures. Furthermore, arthropods have hard skeleton bodies and have more than on limb. These are the different characteristics of arthropods.
